Memorial Day 2020

By Keith Klein | Blog

This Memorial Day 2020 weekend, the traditional kickoff to summer, will be different than we’re used to.  Whatever your tradition is, it’s likely impacted somehow by the COVID19 crisis.

This, from NPR.org:                              memorial day 2020 picture of tombstone with orchids and flag

U.S. government buildings, military posts and embassies will fly the flag at half-staff through Memorial Day weekend in memory of the nearly 100,000 people who have died of COVID-19, President Trump announced Thursday night. The decision comes after Democratic leaders in Congress sent a letter to the president requesting the gesture.

“I will be lowering the flags on all Federal Buildings and National Monuments to half-staff over the next three days in memory of the Americans we have lost to the CoronaVirus,” Trump said via Twitter.

Flags will be lowered from Friday through Sunday’s sunset. Trump added that flags will again be flown at half-staff on Monday to honor the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.

The national flag is dropped to half its normal height at times when the nation is in mourning or after a national tragedy. The U.S. is currently in the throes of a pandemic that has killed about 95,000 people in the country and derailed normal life for millions of people.

Wherever you find yourself on Monday, Memorial Day 2020, please take a moment to remember and honor those who died while serving our country.

Be safe, and be healthy.

Salute to Veterans Day

By Jerry | Blog

On Veterans Day, we honor those who have served in our
military.  Well-meaning people often confuse
Veterans Day with two other holidays.  Memorial Day honors
those who died in service of their country.
Armed Forces Day honors those who are presently serving.

If you want to “Thank A Vet”, this is the day!

2018 marks the centennial of Armistice Day – now known as Veterans Day

On November 11th, 1918, an armistice was signed ending hostilities, in effect ending World War I. In 1919, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed November 11th the first commemoration of Armistice Day, honoring veterans of WWI. In 1954, when WWI “the war to end all wars”, had been followed by WWII and Korea, Congress changed Armistice Day to Veterans Day to honor all vets, not just those from WWI.

Milwaukee has a Veterans Day parade every year.  This year the Milwaukee Vets Day parade is Saturday, November 10th at 11:00 am.  The route goes East down Kilbourn Ave and ends up at the War Memorial on the lake.  If you would like to attend and honor our veterans, details are here: https://honorourmilitary.us/

Intelegist, LLC says thank you, to all of our American Veterans.   And thanks to Mark Mullarky of Mullarky Business Systems, where this post first appeared.

Paging System Maintenance

By Jerry | Blog

If your paging system sound quality is not what it used to be, get it fixed.

Many customers feel that a paging system looses it’s quality of sound with age.

That is simply not true. If your system looses quality or volume, there is

definitely a repair issue. Some customers have a loss in volume, so they turn

up the volume on the Amps. Turning up the Amps instead of fixing what caused

the volume change, can damage the Amps.

Have a professional test for grounds, shorts, and overloads. Detecting and correcting

problems early can stop more damage to the system and save you money.

Have your system tested.  For details about our paging system maintenance service, call Intelegist LLC 414-531-3547

Repair Versus New

By Jerry | Blog

Customers are often surprised to find that they do not need a new paging system. Many times we can repair existing for much less than going new. Many times the original system was not installed properly. Once repaired and working as designed, paging sounds much better.

Tornado & Evac. Alerts over Paging

By Jerry | Blog

A lot of customers are taking advantage of the new products for adding alerts and announcements for their existing paging system. Technology has really brought the pricing down. I can now sell and install the equipment for a price that the equipment itself used to cost. More options on the new equipment too.
